On behalf of the Employee Engagement Committee – 社区 Outreach, we invite you to participate in the Giving Tree Campaign to benefit two families of whom are MCCC students. 

Both families were asked to provide three needs 和 three wants for each family member.  As prices continue to rise at the grocery store, gas station, utilities, 等.，更多的家庭需要帮助.  This year is a great opportunity for us all to come together to help make a happier holiday season for others in our community. The items requested are listed on the tags hung on the Giving Tree located in front of the Admission/Financial 援助 office.  你可以把你的 包装包 在树下 标签上 by 12月13日星期三^th.   You can also make a cash donation by dropping it off at the Cashier’s window.

捐赠选项:

In July 和 August, MCCC partnered with the Salvation Army 和 United Way to collect 学校用品.  Donation boxes were placed in each of the buildings on campus.

Six backpacks were purchased from WalMart 和 eighteen items of each product were purchased from Meijer.

This was one of our many collaborative efforts with local non-profits to support the Monroe community.

再一次。, this year we were collecting for 49 children from 20 families associated with the Head Start Program.  那是最后一刻，但是 我们做到了!  😊

As per our standard we provided meals for the families which included an appropriately sized ham, 盒装的干贝土豆, 青豆罐头, 盒装玉米面包, 一罐苹果酱, 还有一盒巧克力蛋糕.  Plus this year we threw in a box of fun Easter themed cereal!

 正义橡树庇护所餐

The 社区 Outreach Committee provided dinner for the homeless shelter on Thursday, February 23^rd.  The shelter had been without power due to the ice storm 和 they were so grateful for the hot meal (pizza, 肉桂棒, 沙拉和来自意大利片的汽水).  Many of the residents had to be relocated to local hotels 和 the dinner delivered to them.

再一次。 this year, the meal was courtesy of Thrivent, funds secured by 杰克·伯恩斯.  (Wherever your heart is leading you, Thrivent helps make sure your finances support the journey.)

This yearly effort focuses on the children from the local Head Start Program 和 their families.

This year we collected gifts 和 toys for 51 children (Head Start students 和 siblings combined) representing 22 families.  Each family also received a complete Easter meal 和 household supplies.

The 社区 Outreach Committee provided a meal at the Oaks of Righteousness’ homeless shelter.  2月26日, members of the 社区 Outreach Committee delivered salad, pizza 和 drinks to the 正义之橡树无家可归者收容所.  埃里森·盖拉多, 瑞秋鹰, 艾米丽Willcock 和 their sons bought the 食物 with donations from Jack Burn’s fundraising efforts through Thrivent.
